Homicide Victim & Teen Shot a Woman in Hours Before His Death

-

Marion Terry picThe Augusta man found dead on Sunday morning on Cooney Circle had just participated in a shooting that seriously injured a female neighbor, according to warrants obtained by The Jail Report.

Marion Terry, 29 (shown at right), was found dead Sunday inside a home on Cooney Circle. His death was labeled a homicide and coroner’s officials said he was definitely shot.

DAVANTE PARKSAn investigation shows Terry had joined an Augusta teen in shooting a woman Saturday on the same street. According to arrest warrants, 18-year-old Davant’e Parks (pictured in jail mugshot) and Terry shot Brittney McKie at 1806 Cooney Circle.

“(Parks) along with co-defendant Marion Terry who is now deceased, did shoot the victim several times,” a warrant says.

The teen allegedly provided Terry with the firearm and ammunition and went with him to shoot the 25-year-old victim at Jennings Homes Apartments in Augusta.

McKieMcKie (pictured) was transported and admitted to Augusta University hospital for injuries to the upper right arm, right thigh, left middle finger and is currently in stable condition, the warrant says.

There is no word from authorities on whether Terry was shot in a gunfight with the female neighbor or a motive in the shootings.

Parks has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon, a .38-caliber revolver. He remains in the Richmond County Jail under no bond.
