-

The man who killed his wife and family dog at an Augusta hotel two days ago has died from injuries suffered in a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.

Andrew Thompson, 35, of North Myrtle Beach, was transported from Wood Springs Suites on Riverwatch Parkway to the hospital Monday after shooting his wife and family dog. He then shot himself. Mr. Thompson died at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday at Augusta University Medical Center, Coroner Mark Bowen said.

The wife was identified as 33-year-old Nancy Sigrit Thompson. The couple had apparently been staying at the hotel for a few days.
