The victim, Susanna Shepherd, told authorities that Bowles had consumed alcohol before coming to work at 9 a.m. Thursday. She told Bowles she was not allowed to work under those conditions and would have to find a replacement. Shepherd then went outside and called the suspect’s mother to come pick her up.

“Bowles followed her outside and continued to yell at her,” a sheriff’s report says. “She went back inside with Bowles following. Bowles then pushed her against the wall by her throat.”

Sybil Bowles  Shepherd called 911, and Bowles told responding deputies that she “has a drinking problem and admitted to having two shots before work.” The suspect said she was mad that she wasn’t allowed to work and pushed her co-worker.

Bowles was charged with simple battery and taken to jail.
