‘Locker Room by Lids’ Employee Steals Over $9,000 from Store at Augusta Mall

-

An employee of Locker Room by Lids was recently arrested for conning his company out of thousands with fake merchandise returns.

Andrew Louis Grant Jr., 21, of Augusta, was charged Nov. 24 with felony theft by deception.

A manager at the Augusta Mall store told authorities that Grant stole $9,273.91 from the store. The suspect allegedly used his hand-held checkout device to enter fake merchandise returns and collected the money, a sheriff’s report says.

The manager said the company found the fake returns in the computer system and reported them to him. Grant openly confessed to the theft, saying he made several fake returns while on shift beginning in September.
