Man Found Dead in Jackson Home with Hands & Feet Bound

-

The Aiken County Coroner’s Office is investigating the suspicious death of a male found Sunday night in the cellar of a Jackson home, according to a press release.

Jackson police responded to a home Sunday night in the 100 block of 3rd Street in Jackson for a well-being check. When the officer arrived, a foul odor was emitting from the residence and the body of a male was discovered in the basement.

“The victim was in a stage of decomposition and his hands and feet were bound,” Coroner Darryl Ables said. “An autopsy will be done in Newberry to determine the cause of death.”

The victim name will be released upon positive identification and notification to next of kin, the coroner said. The Coroner’s Office and the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office are continuing with the investigation.
