Man Found Dead in Vehicle After Aiken County Shooting

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Wednesday evening on Springside Lane.

At approximately 7:24 p.m., deputies, along with USC Aiken Police, responded to the 6000 block of Springside Lane after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers found an unresponsive Black male inside a vehicle. Despite efforts to assist, the individual was later pronounced deceased.

The victim was identified as 25-year-old Tevin Jackson of Aiken, who was located inside the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at 8:09 p.m. Wednesday from multiple gunshot wounds, Coroner Darryl Ables said. An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday in Newberry.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities say further information will be made available as it becomes known.
