Martinez Teen, 17, Accused of Raping 14-Year-Old Girl Who He Knew from School

-

An Evans High School student was charged Friday with felony rape of a younger female classmate that occurred off-campus in December, authorities said.

Cameron Hobbs, 17, of Paces Ferry Road, Martinez, is accused of forcibly raping a 14-year-old girl who he knew from school. The sexual assault allegedly happened in broad daylight around lunchtime Monday, Dec. 7, in a parking lot outside a subdivision’s clubhouse in Grovetown, according to a warrant.

The incident was reported to law enforcement three days later, and an investigation led to the teen’s arrest on Friday. An arrest warrant makes clear that the sexual encounter was “against her will” and “without consent.”
