The victim of an aggravated battery at Maxwell House Apartments in Augusta has died.
Matilda Lorraine Jenkins, 58, died late Tuesday at Georgia Regents Medical Center Shock Trauma ICU. She was was found unresponsive at 1002 Green Street on Feb. 8 with visible head injuries that were consistent with being brutally assaulted.
Authorities charged 57-year-old David Maurice Kyler with aggravated battery after the incident. No additional charges will be made until the initial findings of the autopsy are known, authorities said.
