New Ellenton Shooting Leads to County’s 1st Homicide

Aiken County authorities are working with New Ellenton police to solve the county’ first homicide of the year.

Dantroy L. Cuthbertson, 35, of Blackville (pictured) was shot to death at 10:30 p.m. Saturday on the 400 block of Williamson Avenue in New Ellenton.

Cuthbertson was pronounced dead at the scene just after midnight Sunday, Coroner Tim Carlton said.

“As this is an ongoing investigation the details surrounding this incident are being evaluated,” the coroner said in a press release.

A motive was not mentioned.
