Pair Arrested in Shooting at America’s Best Value Inn in Augusta

Two arrests have been made in Tuesday’s shooting at a hotel on Deans Bridge Road that left a man in critical condition.

Tabatha Lynn Jenkins is charged with aggravated assault, weapon possession and theft by receiving stolen property. Derrick Kim Barnes is charged with  possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and theft by receiving stolen property.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded Tuesday to America’s Best Value Inn at 3320 Deans Bridge Road.  The male victim was shot at least one time and was transported to the hospital for treatment. The victim stopped a Gold Cross medical unit at approximately 3:45 p.m. Tuesday advising of the gunshot injury.

At the time of this post Wednesday evening, the victim is still in the hospital listed in critical condition.

A motive was not given.
