Richmond County Man Accused of Killing Wife & Her Daughter; Suspect is Considered ‘Armed & Dangerous’

-

Richmond County authorities are hunting for James Briggs in connection with Sunday’s double homicide of his wife Tammy and her 21-year-old daughter, April Williams.

Briggs was last seen driving a black 2014 Dodge 2500 crew cab pickup, according to a RCSO Wanted Poster. The rear windshield of the vehicle has a noticeable letter “B” in fancy writing on it. Briggs is considered to be armed and dangerous. He has active warrants.

The victims were killed Sunday at their home on the 5000 block of Copse Drive in Richmond County, which is in Haynes Station off Gordon Highway.

“Briggs and Williams were shot at least one time,” Coroner Mark Bowen said. “Autopsies are scheduled at the GBI Lab.”

A Facebook page for Tammy Briggs says she worked at University Health Care System.

Anyone that comes in contact with James Briggs or has any information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact Inv. Wes Ward or any on call investigator at the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at 706-821-1453 or 706-821-1020.
