Sergeant Fired for Forgery and Stolen Time in Richmond County

-

The Richmond County Marshal’s Office has terminated Sgt. Britney Brown following an internal investigation into allegations of misconduct, according to a media release issued Friday by Marshal Ramone Lamkin.

.The office became aware of the allegations on Wednesday. After what the release described as a “thorough internal investigation,” officials determined that Brown had violated Marshal’s Office policy and was “immediately terminated.”

Chief Deputy Bill Probus confirmed allegations against Brown involved stolen time and forged documents connected to military leave. After the internal investigation, they discovered several violations of agency policies and possibly state law.

Brown was terminated and they filed an incident report and asked the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the allegations.
