Suspicious Death: Woman is Found Dead in SUV While Visiting Daughters in Augusta

A Kansas woman who was visiting her daughters in Augusta was found dead in an SUV on Thursday afternoon.

The death is 57-year-old Tammy Mantooth is being called “suspicious” with an autopsy scheduled for next week, Coroner Mark Bowen said.

The vehicle was in the parking lot of Azalea Park Apartments at 1814 Fayetteville Drive in Augusta. The woman is from Lola, Kansas.

The sheriff’s office says they are investigating.
