A local teen has been charged in Tuesday’s shooting death of a man at the home they share on Hephzibah-McBean Road in Hephzibah.

Jordan Walden, 17, was arrested Tuesday for murder and weapon possession in reference to the homicide at 1457 Hephzibah-McBean Road, authorities said.

The victim, 35-year-old Marciano Kirkland, was found inside the residence with at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 4:15 p.m. Tuesday.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause and manner of death, Coroner Mark Bowen said.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at 3:11 p.m. Tuesday. Sheriff’s Sgt. John Perry confirmed that deputies located the victim, who had already succumbed to his injuries.

No motive has been released.
