These Guys are Responsible for a 13-Ton Dump in the Woods, Richmond County Marshal Says

-

Two men are facing felony dumping charges after the Richmond County Marshal’s Office connected them to 26,000 pounds of garbage left on Gravel Pit Road.

Artis Murphy, left, and Jaquantez Hall have been charged with felony illegal dumping, according to a press release.

On Nov. 23, the RCMO was notified by the sheriff’s office and Department of Natural Resources about an illegal dump at 1701 Gravel Pit Road. A subsequent investigation by the RCMO led to the arrests of the two subjects.

The total weight of the illegal dumping materials was 26,080 pounds, which is equal to 13 tons. Both subjects confessed to the illegal dumping, the marshal’s office said.

“We would like to remind everyone to follow proper procedures and utilize the landfill for waste, not our streets and neighborhoods. It is all of our responsibility to help keep our city clean and safe,” the press release said.

Here are some pictures of the dump.
