Third Suspect Arrested in 2024 Shooting Death of Augusta Teen

-

A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the 2024 shooting death of 16-year-old Sadiq Brown, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday.

On the morning of May 29, members of the U.S. Marshals Joint Task Force apprehended 18-year-old Kieran Darnell Walters in Gwinnett County. Walters was wanted for murder in connection with the July 5, 2024, shooting that occurred in the parking lot of A-Town Wings, located at 2622 Peach Orchard Road in Augusta.

The arrest was the result of an ongoing investigation and close collaboration between law enforcement agencies. Investigators from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, who are assigned to the task force, played a key role in locating and capturing Walters.

Two other suspects had already been taken into custody in connection with the case. Malcolm Bryant, 18, was arrested on August 20, 2024, and charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. On January 23, 2025, 20-year-old DeonDrey Denzell Donovan was also arrested and charged in the case.

Brown, a resident of Wrens, Ga., was shot and killed outside the Peach Orchard Road restaurant in what investigators described as a targeted incident.
