Traffic Accident on Deans Bridge Road Claims Life of Local Father

A single-vehicle crash on Deans Bridge Road in Blythe claimed the life of a 46-year-old Augusta man on Saturday night.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident at 9:01 p.m. Saturday in the 4400 block of Deans Bridge Road in Blythe. Upon arrival, deputies found a car with five occupants that had rolled over.

The driver, identified as Antonio Jenkins Jr., was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene at 10:44 p.m. The Coroner’s Office reported that Jenkins lost control of the vehicle while traveling southbound, leading to the rollover.

The four passengers were transported to Wellstar / MCG Hospital, but their identities and conditions are currently unknown.

On his Facebook page, Jenkins has previously shared photos of his children and how proud he was of them. He is being mourned by family and friends alike with social media posts.
