Victim is Fatally Shot Outside Ikonz Nightclub in Augusta; Man was in Military at Fort Gordon

-

The man who was fatally shot Wednesday night at Ikonz Sports Bar in Augusta was in the military at Fort Gordon, possibly the Army Reserve, authorities said.

The victim was identified as 38-year-old Victor Kameil Banks, according to Coroner Mark Bowen. His LinkedIn page identified him as a bank teller at Wells Fargo at Fort Gordon.

The sheriff’s office has not released any suspect description from the shooting at the bar, located at 1515 North Leg Road. A press release says the victim was transported to the Augusta University Medical Center by EMS where he died at 7:45 a.m. Thursday. An autopsy is planned at the GBI.

According to LinkedIn page, Banks was also a personnel manager and military veteran with a pending Secret Security Clearance. He was a recipient of multiple awards for outstanding performance and professionalism in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve.

Authorities say the shooting happened outside of the club, which was celebrating Bike Night.
