Wanted Man Found Under Box Springs in Aiken Hotel! His Friends are Jailed for Helping to Hide Him.

-

Aiken County authorities are sending a message with the arrest of three friends for hiding a wanted man underneath the box springs in an Aiken hotel:  You’re not getting away with it.

A tip led sheriff’s officials to the Econo Lodge where they were told wanted suspect Monroe Hall III could be staying. He’s wanted for a Feb. 2. burglary where he allegedly broke into a home on Hillman Street after fleeing from deputies earlier in the day from a shooting incident on Dunbar Street. (Hall is pictured herewith goatee).

Hall was not located after a search of 109 Hillman Street and the surrounding area. When deputies arrived at the Econo Lodge, they made contact with the occupants in room 221, who were identified as 22-year-old Cody Bunn, 37-year-old Jennifer Pardue-Edgerly, and 18-year-old Kristin Owens (all pictured here).

“The room occupants consented to a search of the room which Hall was not found initially,” sheriff’s Capt. Eric Abdullah said in a press release. “During the course of the investigation, Hall was later found under the box spring inside the bed frame of one of the beds.”

Hall was arrested, and his friends joined him in jail. In addition to burglary, Hall was charged with trafficking meth, marijuana possession, stolen gun, weapon possession and drug possession near a school.

Deputies arrested Pardue-Edgerly, Owens and Bunn for interference, hindering officers serving an arrest warrant.

Augusta Cover 941A press release quotes Sheriff Michael Hunt as saying, “We are grateful for the information that was provided by a citizen that not only helped us arrest a violent offender but his friends who chose to hide him. We cannot express our gratitude enough for the continued support from citizens who help solve crimes.”
