Waynesboro Dad Killed in Wreck on Mike Padgett Highway

A local father of five was killed Wednesday morning in a bad wreck on Mike Padgett Highway in Hephzibah. Daniel Oliver, a Waynesboro father of five, was killed Wednesday morning on Mike Padgett Highway at McCombs Road. Oliver, 33, was pulling out of a parking lot to travel north on Mike Padgett Highway around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, Coroner Mark Bowen said in a press release. A vehicle traveling southbound struck Oliver’s vehicle on the driver’s side. Oliver was pronounced dead on the scene at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday. The victim has five sons, including one expected in April, according to his wife, Tyfani.
