Aiken County Motorcyclist Killed in Tuesday Afternoon Wreck

The Aiken County Coroner’s Office is investigating a traffic fatality that claimed the life of a local man, authorities said.

The collision occurred at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of Rainbow Falls Road in Graniteville, according to Coroner Darryl Ables.

A 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling south when it crossed the centerline and hit a northbound 2004 Chevrolet Suburban head-on. The motorcyclist, identified as 35-year-old Michael I. Moyer Jr. was pronounced dead on the scene from blunt force injuries, the occupants of the suburban were transported to the hospital for observation, the coroner said in a press release.

Toxicology analysis are pending. South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing with the investigation.
