AIKEN COUNTY: Wigged-Robber Arrested in Hold-Up of Graniteville Bank

-

An elderly Graniteville man has been charged with the July 7 hold-up of the Security Federal Bank.

Lucky Wallis Turner, 73, of Leitner Street, is accused of being the wigged robber who entered the bank at 50 Canal Street in Graniteville, brandished a handgun and demanded money from bank employees. Later witnesses saw the gunman drive away in a light gold Ford Explorer.

On Monday morning, a search warrant was executed at the home of Turner in the 700 block of Leitner Street at 10:33 am. Turner was taken into custody without incident, sheriff’s Capt. Eric Abdullah said. Investigators are seeking to charge Turner with four counts of kidnapping, robbery of a financial institution and weapon possession.
