Columbia County authorities are investigating an apparent murder-suicide in the Willow Lake subdivision of Evans on Sunday afternoon.
Deputies we called to 880 Willow Lake in Evans around 3:45 p.m. Sunday in reference to a shooting. When deputies arrived, a male and female were found inside the residence between the dining room area and the front door both with a single gunshot wound to each of their heads, sheriff’s Maj. Steve Morris said.
The male had a firearm next to his body.
The male has been identified as 51-year-old Larry Jacobs and the female as 49-year-old Tijuana Dent.
