A threat to shoot up Greenbrier Middle School went unreported by the school until the mother of a victim called 911.
According to a sheriff’s report obtained by The Jail Report, a 13-year-old female student advised school officials of a text message conversation she had with a fellow 13-year-old male student about another 13-year-old female.
In a text thread, the suspect allegedly said, “I f**king hate (victim), she’s full of so much bulls**t that its not even funny, I hope she gets dragged to hell, gets her eyes plucked out of her skull and her skull comes back to me so I can put it on my wall as a trophy! I hate her so much I want to do a school shooting and only kill her, it’ll be worth life in prison to even death.”
The school held an administrative hearing on Monday and reportedly suspended the suspect. The victim’s mother, called the Sheriff’s Office Tuesday morning and was the first to advise the sheriff’s office of the incident. The teen was charged with two counts of felony terroristic threats and acts, and he was released to his parents, according to sheriff’s Maj. Steve Morris.
An existing agreement with the sheriff’s office requires the Columbia County Board of Education Public Safety Officers to notify law enforcement immediately upon the detection of a crime or receipt of a crime if a crime has been detected, according to Maj. Morris.
A phone call to the school district went unanswered on Tuesday afternoon.
