Note: An earlier post that used information from the jail incorrectly stated that the reckless conduct charge against Tashan Hill involved HIV. That was an error from the jail’s website. We apologize to Mr. Hill for any embarrassment this erroneous information may have caused him and his family.

The sheriff’s office has confirmed the charge is simply “reckless conduct”. The narrative from the Tashan Hill report is listed below:

“On 080621 at 0212 hours, Deputy Casillas was working a special at 531 Broad St(River Front Pub) when I heard shots been fired at the front of the Pub. I walked out front, and I was told by several bystanders that the driver of a white vehicle was shooting in the air. I approached the driver, who was standing out of the car by the driver’s door. I saw the suspect, Tashan Hill, holding a handgun with his forearm and his chest while also holding the magazine in his left hand, and with his right, he was trying to load it. As I approached Hill, I drew my weapon and told him to put his hands up and not reach for the handgun. I reach and grabbed the firearm and the magazine and place them on the trunk lid of the suspects’ vehicle. The handgun was still hot from been fired when I grabbed it. Hill was then placed under arrest for reckless conduct and transported to CBWDC by Dep. Glenn. The handgun, a Taurus PT111 G2(TJU37126), and eight bullet casing were turned into evidence under PT#487759, in locker number#B6. BWC was not active.”
