Drunk Driver Told North Augusta Cops That He Was Headed to Buy Condoms

-

A drunk driver who told cops he had gone to the store for condoms was charged last week with DUI.

According to North Augusta Public Safety reports, officers stopped Maurice Ward, 36, on July 16. Their arrest report suggests that the driver, of Waynesboro, Ga., couldn’t keep his F-150 in the proper lane and repeatedly swerved.

Cops said Ward showed immediate signs of too much booze — red, watering eyes, slurred words and a strong odor of alcohol. When they asked Ward where he was coming from at 1:43 a.m., he reportedly held up a box of Trojans and said, “I came from the store getting rubbers. I’m trying to go have sex.”

According to police, Walker refused a field sobriety test and said, “Just take me to jail. I’m not talking to nobody.”

He also declined a breathalyzer test, police said.
