Grovetown Man Accused of Possessing Child Pornography

-

Grovetown police have released details in the recent arrest of a local man for child pornography.

Eric Longacre, 40, was charged Sept. 7 with three counts of sexual exploitation of children for allegedly possessing multiple videos and files containing child pornography. He remained in jail Thursday under no bond.

The Grovetown Police Department Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant recently at a residence on the 4000 block of Rosedale Place, according to Grovetown Police Chief Jamey Kitchens. That’s because Grovetown investigators assigned to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force received information that Longacre was involved in the possession of child pornography.  He was taken into custody at the residence and several electronic devices were seized.

“The Grovetown Police Department is proud to partner with the GBI ICAC task force to identify and prosecute those in our community who prey on our most vulnerable,” Chief Kitchens said.
