Grovetown Woman Dies After Being Rescued From Fire at Her House

A woman has died after being rescued from a fire at her house Friday afternoon on Sugarcreek Drive in the Grovetown area, just down from a fire station.

The victim has been identified as 53-year-old Christina Bernstein. She was rescued from the fire at 473 Sugarcreek Drive and rushed to Doctors Hospital, where she died, sheriff’s Maj. Steve Morris said.

Sheriff’s officers and fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire. Sugarcreek Drive is located just off the interstate, off Lewiston Drive.
