Hephzibah Man Dies From Injuries in Augusta Weekend Shooting

A Hephzibah man has died from injuries sustained in a weekend shooting on Glenn Hills Drive in Augusta, authorities said.

Isaiah McKnight, 20, was shot Sunday at Glenn Hills Drive and Claudia Drive in Augusta. He was rushed to Wellstar MCG Health, where he was pronounced dead at 12:50 p.m. Monday, Coroner Mark Bowen said.

A sheriff’s report says deputies initially responded around 1 p.m. Sunday to the 3600 block of Goldfinch Drive in reference to a gunshot victim, where they found McKnight. It was later discovered that the original shooting occurred at Claudia Drive and Glenn Hills Drive.

An autopsy has been scheduled. The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has not released information on possible suspects or a motive.
