Jackson Man Facing Manslaughter Charge in Christmas Day Death

-

A Jackson man was locked up for voluntary manslaughter in the Christmas Day killing of another man following an argument.

Jean Pierre Washington, 26, allegedly shot 37-year-old Willie Trotty at a residence at 215 Plantation Road in Jackson. Trotty was pronounced dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

“This incident stems from an argument between the victim and Washington,” sheriff’s Capt. Eric Abdullah said in a press release. “Washington was taken to the Aiken County Detention Center where he is expected to be charged with Manslaughter and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime. The Aiken County Coroner’s Office is assisting with this investigation.”

Court records show that Washington lives on Goodman Road in Jackson, just around the corner from where the shooting occurred.
