Pair Sought for Questioning in 2023 Augusta Murder

Two men are being sought for questioning by Richmond County authorities in connection with a murder last summer on Lumpkin Road.

Tracy Dixon, 33, and Alexander Bernard White, 34, are both wanted for questioning only in the death of Walter Smith.

Smith, 28, was fatally shot July 15, 2023, on the 2100 block of Lumpkin Road.

Described as 5’9” and weighing 140 pounds, Tracy Dixon is believed to frequent the South Augusta and Burke County areas. Similarly, Alexander White, matching Dixon’s physical description, is known to frequent South Augusta, Statesboro, and Burke County.
