RCSO Earns National Accreditation

-

On Saturday, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office received national accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) at its Fall Conference in Miami, Florida.

During the Commission hearing, Sheriff Roundtree answered questions from Commissioner Julie Righter-Dove regarding the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Recruitment Plan, Physical Fitness program, CHAMPS program, the “ No One Wins – Stop Gun Violence Now “ program and proactive policing.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office will be nationally accredited for a period of four years and will undergo re-accreditation in the fall of 2019. Sheriff Roundtree said he would like to thank all of the members of the RCSO and the community who worked tirelessly to achieve this prestigious recognition of law enforcement excellence.
