AIKEN COUNTY: Police Arrest Man in 2020 Retaliation Murder

-

Aiken police have arrested a man in a retaliation murder three years ago that happened at Palmetto Crossing Apartments.

Richard Lee Garvin Jr., 25, of Fairfax, S.C., is charged with murder and criminal conspiracy in the death of 34-year-old TyQuan Graham. The victim was a father of four who had gone to school in Allendale County and loved detailing vehicles and spending time with family and friends, according to an obituary.

Graham was shot multiple times on Nov. 29, 2020, at the apartment complex on Sandlapper Drive in Aiken. Officers found the shooting victim that evening in the breezeway of the apartments unconscious and not breathing. Police and EMS provided medical care but he died on the scene.

“The defendant and other conspirators did plan and execute a retaliatory shooting incident resulting in the murder of TyQuan Graham,” a warrant says.

No other arrests have been announced by the Aiken Department of Public Safety.

Aiken police were assisted by the ATF RAGE Task Force, FBI, Second Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office, Barnwell County Sheriff’s Office, Barnwell Police Department, Allendale County Sheriff’s Office, and Aiken County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.

“This is still an ongoing investigation and more arrests are expected,” ADPS Capt. Martin Sawyer said.
