Aiken Driver is Killed After Crossing Center Line & Striking Another Car

-

An Aiken man was killed Tuesday afternoon after crossing the center line and hitting another car head on, authorities said.

David L. Hass, 68, was unrestrained in his vehicle while traveling south on Banks Mill Road around 3:35 p.m Tuesday, Coroner Darry Ables said in a press release.

“(Hass) crossed the centerline and struck a northbound 2016 Lexus head-on,” the coroner said. “(Hass) was pronounced dead on the scene from blunt force injuries.”

The driver of the Lexus was identified by troopers as 73-year-old Joyce Brickley. She was unharmed.

The S.C. Highway Patrol is continuing with the investigation, and toxicology analysis are pending.
