Aiken Man Found Dead in Backyard Shed from Multiple Gunshots

Aiken County residents were shaken today by the tragic shooting death of 22-year-old Jalen Jones, as confirmed by Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables.

The incident unfolded Monday morning at approximately 11:33 a.m. within the confines of a residence located in the 300 block of Greenwich Drive in Aiken. Authorities discovered Jones in a shed situated in the backyard of the residence, where he was pronounced deceased at the scene due to sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under intense scrutiny as investigators from the Aiken County Coroner’s Office, in collaboration with the Aiken Department of Public Safety, launch a comprehensive inquiry into the incident.

Coroner Ables has revealed that the deceased’s body is scheduled for autopsy on Thursday at a facility in Newberry. This autopsy is expected to provide critical insights into the exact nature of the injuries sustained by Jones and shed light on the events leading up to his untimely demise.
