The suspect and a victim in a recent burglary on Kissingbower Road both went to jail for their stupidity.

According to a sheriff’s report, 18-year-old Aaron Skinner broke into a home on Kissingbower Road on Oct. 25. He dropped his wallet while running away, and deputies found it with his identification inside.

The suspect was stopped while running between Harvey Street at Pine Valley. He was wearing all black and allegedly carrying items stolen from the house, including ear buds, a knife, and a backpack. An officer also found 53 grams of marijuana on him.

“I took those from that house,” Skinner blurted out.

The homeowner, 68-year-old Leonard Nance, wanted the man prosecuted. Officers told him they needed to clear the residence for damage and evidence. Nance agreed.

“Upon checking the exterior of the residence, a rear door was also found kicked open,” a report says. “Upon entering the door, a grow room was located with marijuana.”

Skinner was charged with burglary, meth possession and marijuana possession.

Nance was also taken to jail on a charge of producing marijuana.
