Augusta Suspect Sought for Stealing Credit Cards from Oxygen Fitness

-

A woman is being sought for questioning in the theft of credit cards from two members of Oxygen Fitness in Augusta.

The suspect claimed she was interested in joining the Highland Avenue gym last Wednesday morning when an employee caught her in an area where members store their belongings.

Th employee escorted the female to the front desk, and the woman suddenly left without joining. Members were asked to check their belongings and a 30-year-old member realized her card holder was missing along with her driver’s license and credit cards.

While the victim was reporting her cards stolen to her banks, she received a notice that someone attempted to use her Bank of America card at Walmart on Wrightsboro Road, but the transaction was declined. A second member’s card was stolen and successfully used at the same Walmart, a sheriff’s report says.

Employees reviewed the security camera footage and observed the subject going through multiple bags.
