Augusta Teen, 15, in Custody on Charges of Killing Younger Boy

-

Richmond County authorities confirmed Sunday that they have captured a 15-year-old Augusta boy wanted in last week’s tragic gun death of a younger boy.

Darryaun Tanksley, 15, is facing charges of murder and will be charged as an adult in Tuesday’s shooting death of 14-year-old Anthony Harrison. Tanksley’s mugshot was not released Sunday night.

The arrest comes after the victim’s mother continued her emotional posts online, sharing pictures on Facebook who she indicated was her son’s killer.

“At this point, I think it’s time I do the police job,” Tequila Beasley wrote Sunday afternoon. “The boy literally posting like it’s cool.”

Beasley posted again late Sunday after hearing that Tanksley had been captured.

The mom’s post went viral last week after Anthony was fatally shot Tuesday night at Cedarwood Apartments, located at 527 West Richmond Hill Road in Augusta.

On Tuesday, Beasley wrote a heart-wrenching post with a previous photo of her kissing her son.  “There is absolutely NO UNDERSTANDING,” Beasley wrote. “I now have NOTHING TO LIVE FOR.”

A sheriff’s report says an apartment was struck by gunfire. The resident, Tyrone Glover, was not home at the time. Another apartment was also struck by gunfire and three residents were in the residence.

Harrison was reportedly killed in the gunfire.
