-

An Augusta teen became the latest homicide in Richmond County after he was shot Tuesday night in a church parking lot on East Cedar Street and died later at the hospital.

Juanya Holliman, 15, was shot around 9:20 p.m. Tuesday in the back parking lot of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church at 710 East Cedar Street. He was transported to Augusta University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 9:49 p.m. Tuesday, Coroner Mark Bowen said.

Another 15-year-old boy, Tyrone Dorsey, has been charged as an adult with murder. He is accused of shooting the victim in the upper body. He has an address on Jonathan Circle. Dorsey is currently being held at the Regional Youth Detention Center.

The victim lived a half-mile away on the 1300 block of Bruce Street. On one of his last Facebook posts, Juanya posted a photo of himself in a T-shirt that says, “Let’s Remain Positive Today.” His page says he went to Laney High School.
