Body Found in Augusta Canal; RCSO Calls it a ‘Suspicious Death’

From the RCSO: “On Saturday,  August 6, 2022 at 11:12 am, Richmond County Deputies responded to the Augusta Canal behind the Salvation Army Kroc Center on the 1800 block of Broad Street in reference to a deceased person. Upon arrival, Deputies located a deceased person in the canal.
The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division and Crime Scene Unit have responded to the scene and are in the early stages of the investigation. At this time the incident is being investigated as a suspicious death.
There is no further information available at this time.”
