A Burke County woman went to jail for shooting a man who wouldn’t leave her yard early Sunday, authorities said.
Megan Black has been charged with aggravated assault and weapon possession.
“This was not a domestic Incident, just an incident where the suspect decided to take action on an individual that wouldn’t leave her yard,” sheriff’s Chief Deputy Lewis C. Blanchard said in a press release.
Just after midnight Sunday, authorities responded to Zerbee Lane in Morris Village for shots fired. That’s where deputies found a male that had been shot once. He was taken to Augusta University Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
Nearby, deputies located the suspect and recovered her gun.
