Captured: Aiken Man Who Shot at His Wife

-

Aiken County deputies captured a man Wednesday who allegedly shot at his wife after an argument escalated into violence.

Deangelo Marquise Atkerson, 35, was found at a home in the 400 block of Audubon Circle, authorities said.

“Atkerson’s arrest was made possible by tips from citizens that lead deputies to his location,” sheriff’s Cap. Eric Abdullah said in a press release.

According to ACSO, the suspect and his wife were arguing on Oct. 7 at a home  on Wagener Road, where deputies investigated a domestic call with shots fired.  Atkerson fled before deputies arrived, according to reports. He is wanted for domestic violence, multiple kidnapping charges and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Atkerson’s wife said he pulled a shotgun and fired after the couple exchanged words. No injuries were reported.
Atkerson was taken to the Aiken County Detention Center where he was booked on warrants for Domestic Violence 1st degree, five counts of Kidnapping, and Possession of Weapon during Violent Crime.
