Evans Tanning Salon Manager Accused of Stealing Customer’s Rings

-

The manager of an Evans tanning salon was recently arrested for theft after a customer accidentally left her two rings inside a tanning room.

Palm Beach Tan Manager Eva Cotto, 31, was charged Jan. 4 with theft of lost or mislaid property.

A 52-year-old customer told authorities that she used a tanning room at the Washington Road salon on Jan. 2. She laid her belongings on the bench inside the tanning room, and after she finished her tan, she picked up her belongings to leave. The woman left two rings on the bench to apply lotion and then left the store.

Around an hour later, she realized what she had left and called the store to ask if they had seen them.

Management advised her they had not. Officers called and talked to an employee as well as Cotto, the manager. Both said they didn’t see any rings. However, authorities say Cotto had taken them.
