Evans Woman Assaults Husband Over His Neck Tattoo

-

An Evans woman allegedly assaulted her husband Saturday after seeing his new neck tattoo, according to a sheriff’s report.

Kelzey Elizabeth Appling, 34, was charged Saturday afternoon with simple battery – family violence.

Responding deputies found William Jameson Appling with blood running down his face from a large bump over his left eye. He also had a large bruise on his forehead.

Mr. Appling showed officers several videos of his wife hitting him after an argument about a new tattoo he got on his neck. Officers then spoke to the wife about it.

“Ms. Appling stated that they were arguing over his new tattoo and Mr. Appling struck her in the face and neck first and that she hit him back in self-defense,” the deputy’s report says. “While speaking with Mrs. Appling, I did observe a few red marks on her neck but did not observe anything on her face to indicate that she had been punched.”

The whole fight took place in front of the couple’s children, but they told officers they only heard the argument and didn’t see it.

Based on the evidence, officers arrested Mrs. Appling.
