FIRST LOOK: Augusta Region Pours Out Love for 8-Year-Old Girl Killed in Drive-By Shooting

-

Family and friends have been flooding social media with photos and prayers for Arbrie Anthony, the 8-year-old girl who was fatally shot Saturday night in an apparent drive-by shooting on 3rd Avenue in Augusta.

Richmond County deputies responded at 7:25 p.m. Saturday to the 2000 block of 3rd Avenue in reference to a shooting. They learned that Arbrie had been shot in the front yard of a residence in an apparent drive by shooting.

She was transported to Augusta University Medical Center by private vehicle, where she was pronounced dead, sheriff’s Sgt. William McCarty said. This marks Richmond County’s first homicide of 2022.

No arrest has been announced. The Jail Report is working with the sheriff’s office on offering at least $1,000 in reward money for information leading to the killer. Stay tuned for more info on that… As always, you can call the sheriff’s office at 706-821-1020 with any information you have.

Here are some of the online posts since Saturday.
