A Hephzibah teen died overnight from a fatal shooting that happened on Plantation Road, authorities said.

Tekeil Lee Jr., 16, of the 2400 block of Plantation Road, was shot at least once around 6:40 p.m. Monday on the street where he lived. He was rushed to Augusta University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 3:47 a.m. Tuesday in the emergency room, Coroner Mark Bowen said.

No arrests or motive have been announced. “Investigators are in the early stages of this investigation and no further information is available at this time,” sheriff’s Sgt. William McCarty said by email on Tuesday morning.
