Murder #10: Shooting Victim Found Face Down in Augusta

Richmond County investigators are hunting a killer after finding a shooting victim lying face down just after midnight Wednesday on the 2100 block of 2nd Avenue in Augusta.

According to sheriff’s Sgt. Michael Shane McDaniel Sr., the male victim suffered two gunshot wounds to the chest and was rushed to Georgia Regents University, where he died.

“There is no suspect information at this time,” Sgt. McDaniel said in a press release. “The name of the deceased is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin. Further details will be forthcoming when available.”
