North Augusta Police Use Video to Track Hit & Run Killer

-

A North Augusta man who fatally struck a woman with his vehicle Friday night and left her to die in a ditch has been caught with the help of video, authorities said.

Roger Bradham Sr., 59, confessed to being the driver of a vehicle that was tracked to the hit & run death of 50-year-old Angela Kathleen Blackwell.

The North Augusta woman was found in a ditch at 7:30 a.m. Saturday on Old Edgefield Road in the area of Brigham Road, around the corner from where she lived on Old Martintown Road, authorities said.

After reviewing video from several locations in the area, police determined the accident happened the night before at around 8:45 p.m. Friday.

“A vehicle description was obtained from the video and Officers began looking for the suspect vehicle in the area,” North Augusta Public Safety Lt. Clay Swann said. “At approximately 11 a.m., a vehicle was located parked behind a house on Philpot Lane which matched the description and had front end damage.”

Philpot Lane is about a half-mile from where the fatal accident occurred. Bradham was questioned and confessed to being the driver of the vehicle involved in the fatal collision.  He is facing charges of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. He is being held in the Aiken County Detention Center.
