Pretty-Boy Bandit is Back in Augusta After California Capture; Teen is Accused of Holding Up Bank with Threatening Note

-

An Evans teen is back in Augusta to face charges of robbing the South State Bank on Nov. 25.

John Dalton Vaught, 19, of the 400 block of Northridge Circle, Evans, was captured in Los Angeles and extradited back to Georgia over the weekend.

Authorities say the suspect was wearing a black jacket with a black and white hat when he walked into the bank on Wheeler Road on Nov. 25. He handed a note to the teller that demanded cash “or he would kill her or blow up the building,” a sheriff’s report says.

The teller gave the teen money and the suspect left the bank. Two weeks ago, the sheriff’s office identified Vaught and sent out a Wanted Poster, calling the suspect “armed and dangerous.” He remained in jail Monday morning on a single charge of robbery by intimidation.
