-

Here is a RCSO update on the deputy-involved wreck:

“On the evening of June 7, 2021, Richmond County Deputy Christina Dunn was involved in an on duty traffic accident at the intersection of Gordon Highway and Highland Avenue.

Deputy Dunn was responding to an emergency call using her lights and siren traveling south on Highland Avenue and entered the intersection of Gordon Highway. Witnesses reported that she had the green light when she collided with a Hyundai Elantra which had ran the red light traveling east on Gordon Highway. A third vehicle, A Dodge Ram Pickup, was also struck by the Elantra.

The driver of the Elantra fled the scene on foot and remains at large. The driver of the Dodge Ram was not injured. The investigation is still on going.

Deputy Dunn was transported by ambulance to Augusta University E.R. where she was released after being treated for minor injuries.

Deputy Dunn was hired by the Sheriff’s Office in June of 2020. She is assigned to the road patrol division.”
